In "De Idylle", Aaron Rookus' second feature film, several generations of a family are confronted with their mortality. This mosaic story, written by Rookus himself, combines humor with existential questions, inspired by a quote from Kafka. The film follows, among others, the single mother and opera singer Annika and her brother Victor, who struggle with their life choices and mortality. Rookus, known for his award-winning films and series, explores themes such as mortality and the meaning of life in "De Idylle".
