Diana Sanchez has been named executive director of Hot Docs, North America’s leading documentary film festival. She will take over the role on March 31, succeeding interim executive director Janice Dawe. Sanchez will oversee the strategic direction and management of the festival, the Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema, and year-round programming and activities. She previously worked at the Toronto Film Festival and other international festivals. Nicholas de Pencier, co-chair of the board, credits her leadership for ushering in a new era for the organization.
