Alex de Ronde retired on February 27, 2025 as director of the Ketelhuis in Amsterdam, founded in 1999 by Marc van Warmerdam. De Ronde, who contributed to the promotion of Dutch and European films for 25 years, criticized the termination of subsidies by the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts to the Ketelhuis and by the city of Utrecht to the Netherlands Film Festival.
