At the Ostend Film Festival (FFO25), directors César Díaz and Miwako Van Weyenberg will present their films 'Mexico 86' and 'Soft Leaves'. Both films highlight the relationship between parent and child and are set against a backdrop of cultural displacement. Díaz and Van Weyenberg, who each live in two cultures, discuss the challenges of multilingualism on set. Not only did they have to communicate in different languages, they also had to translate for their international teams. This multilingualism increased the complexity during production, but also enriched the films. 'Mexico 86' and 'Soft Leaves' will be released in Belgian cinemas on 16 April and 26 March respectively.
