Mercedes Stalenhoef, known for her documentaries, makes her first feature film with "Ik zal zien". The film, which premiered at IFFR 2025, tells the story of a seventeen-year-old student, played by Aiko Beemsterboer, who suddenly goes blind in an accident. The script was inspired by a friend of Stalenhoef's who went blind at a young age. The film explores themes such as loss, resilience and the impact of blindness on the lives of young adults.
