Marten Rabarts, the new head of IFFR Pro, emphasizes that this year's projects at CineMart, the co-production market of the International Film Festival Rotterdam, are artistically excellent and shed light on social themes such as authoritarianism and colonialism. Filmmakers such as Marcelo Gomes, Cao Guimarães and Cheryl Dunye process their concerns about the future in their films. CineMart has increased the number of projects this year and focuses on building long-term co-production relationships. The 42nd edition of CineMart takes place from 2 to 5 February.
