In 2024, the Nordic film markets experienced mixed results. Finland saw a sharp decline in cinema admissions, despite the success of local films such as Tiina Lymi’s ‘Stormskerry Maja’. Denmark remained stable with a 24% market share for local films. Norway saw a decline in admissions, especially for international films, while Norwegian productions such as Erik Poppe’s ‘Quisling – The Final Days’ performed well. Sweden and Iceland also experienced declines, but local films gained ground.
