The 75th Berlin International Film Festival, to be held from 13 to 23 February 2025, celebrates the complexity of humanity with a diverse selection of short films under the banner "To Be in This World". The Berlinale Shorts section presents 20 titles from 18 countries, including 15 world premieres. The programme explores themes such as humanity, technology, war and memory through a mix of genres, styles and formats. Anna Henckel-Donnersmarck, Head of Berlinale Shorts, emphasises the rich portraits the programme offers, ranging from documentary to fiction and animation. The films address topics such as war, family ties, crisis and human resilience. In addition, the 75th Berlinale honours its legacy with a special compilation of six iconic short films from its archive, including works by Billy Roisz and PARKing CHANce.
