At the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, “Emilia Pérez,” a musical about a drug lord who undergoes gender-affirming surgery, took home the most film awards with four wins, including best musical or comedy. “The Brutalist,” a historical epic about the postwar immigrant experience, followed with three awards, including best drama. In the television categories, “Shōgun,” a historical drama about feudal Japan, dominated with four awards, including best TV drama. “Baby Reindeer” and “Hacks” each won two awards in their respective categories. Adrien Brody and Demi Moore were honored for their roles in “The Brutalist” and “The Substance,” while “Shōgun” actors Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai won TV drama awards.
