The Clermont-Ferrand International Film Festival, the world’s largest festival dedicated to short films, will screen more than 140 titles in three competitions from 31 January to 8 February 2025. The festival, which attracted 160,000 visitors in 2023, offers a diverse collection of short films that explore topical issues such as war, displacement and fear, as well as timeless themes such as love, life and death. The international competition includes notable works such as Ruairi Bradley’s “We Beg to Differ,” Clàudia Cedó’s “Made of Sugar,” and Håkon Anton Olavsen’s “Sorry I’m Late (But I Brought a Choir).” Other recognizable titles include Nebojša Slijepčević’s “The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent” and Samir Karahoda’s “On the Way.” The national competition and the Labo competition also highlight diverse talent with films such as "Death of an Actor" by Ambroise Rateau and "The Exploding Girl" by Caroline Poggi and Jonathan Vinel.
