The British Columbia government has announced it will increase tax incentives for the film industry to attract more major productions and retain high-quality film and television jobs in the province. Premier David Eby stressed that film production in BC has been hit by the pandemic, labour unrest and changes in the industry. The increases to the Film Incentive BC (FIBC) and the Production Services Tax Credit (PSTC) are part of Budget 2025, aimed at making BC more attractive to filmmakers from Canada and around the world. Regional and remote location tax incentives are also being reinstated for businesses outside of Metro Vancouver.
