The 54th edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) will open on January 30, 2025 with the Dutch comedy "Fabula" by Michiel ten Horn and close with "This City Is a Battlefield" by Indonesian director Mouly Surya. "Fabula" tells the story of a criminal, played by Fedja van Huêt, who ends up in an existential crisis. "This City Is a Battlefield" is set during the Indonesian struggle for independence in 1946. The festival also announced the jury members for the competition programs, with notable names such as Soheila Golestani and Peter Strickland.
