At the 2024 European Film Awards in Lucerne, Switzerland, Jacques Audiard's "Emilia Pérez" was the big winner. The film won all four nominations, including best film, beating out fourteen other films in the category. Jacques Audiard was also awarded best director and best screenplay, while Karla Sofia Gascón took home the award for best actress. The Dutch co-production "Armand" received the Prix Fipresci. This year, for the first time, documentaries and animated films could compete for the award for best film.
