Denmark has approved a tax incentive to attract international film and television productions, joining other Nordic countries that already have such a program. The initiative, which will start in 2026 with an annual budget of DKK 125 million ($17.5 million), is intended to boost Denmarkâs competitiveness. The country, known for its creative community and directors such as Susanne Bier and Lars van Trier, was the only European country, along with Luxembourg, without such a program. Danish Culture Minister Jakob Engel-Schmidt stressed the strategic importance of attracting major film and television productions for Denmark.
