Tom Tykwer's latest film, "The Light," will open the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, which runs from February 13-23. The film, starring Lars Eidinger and Nicolette Krebitz, depicts the everyday life of a German middle-class family in an unstable world. "The Light" is a German-French co-production and will be screened out of competition in the Berlinale Special Gala section. Tykwer, known for "Run Lola Run" and "Cloud Atlas," previously opened the Berlinale in 2002 and 2009.
