The shooting of the series Badgast, starring Tom Waes, has been temporarily halted after a serious car accident in which Waes was seriously injured by driving under the influence of alcohol. KRO-NCRV, involved in the production together with VRT, De Mensen and Pupkin, is waiting for Waes' recovery. The series, about a divorced father and his teenage daughter on holiday, was scheduled for the end of next year. Waes, who does not remember the accident, has admitted to having made a big mistake and is now focusing on recovery.
