The opening film “About a Hero” used a deepfake voice of Werner Herzog, emphasizing the urgency of this discussion. Attention was also paid to the political and military implications of AI, such as the use of AI by the Israeli army in Gaza. Installations such as “AI & Me” and “Oryza: Healing Ground” by Tamara Shogaolu explored bias in AI systems and the potential to use them to tell forgotten histories. The Archival Producers Alliance (APA) warned of the risks of AI-generated images that could obscure the archive.
