The main prizes were awarded at IDFA 2024. Trains by Maciej J. Drygas won the prize for Best Film in the International Competition and also received the award for Best Editing. The film, composed entirely of found footage, sheds light on the impact of war and migration through the lens of train travel in the twentieth century. Auberi Edler was named Best Director for An American Pastoral, an in-depth exploration of the American culture wars. In the Envision Competition, Chronicles of the Absurd by Miguel Coyula won Best Film, while Bestiaries, Herbaria, Lapidaries by Massimo D'Anolfi and Martina Parenti took home the award for Best Director.
