The Golden Film has been awarded to director and producer Lucio Messercola with The Great Sinterklaas Film: Stampij in de Bakkerij. The family film attracted 100,000 visitors who followed the Pieten's search for Marco Marsepein's stolen gingerbread recipe. Martien Meiland, who plays the role of lord of the castle Jean-Claude in the film, was surprised with the Golden Film in his guesthouse in Noordwijk. It is the twelfth Golden Film that has been awarded to a Dutch feature film this year. The Golden Film Award is an initiative of the Netherlands Film Festival and is supported by the Netherlands Film Fund and the Abraham Tuschinski Fund.
