The Imagine Fantastic Film Festival celebrates its fortieth edition in 2024 with the theme 'weird is wonderful'. The festival, which once started as a Weekend of Terror organized by Jan Doense, shows more than sixty international films in genres such as fantasy, horror, anime, cult and science fiction. The program opens with "Mr. K." by Tallulah Hazekamp Schwab, a tribute to Kafka. There are three theme programs, including an ode to George Orwell and an exploration of the djinn in the Islamic horror film. Guest of honor is Phil Tippett, who will receive a Career Achievement Award. The festival takes place from October 24 to November 3, 2024 in Amsterdam.
