At the 51st edition of Film Fest Gent, the film Super Happy Forever by Japanese director Kohei Igarashi won the Grand Prix for Best Film. The film, a mourning portrait that stands out for its sparse narration, was praised by the International Jury. The Georges Delerue Award for Best Soundtrack went to Grand Tour by Portuguese filmmaker Miguel Gomes. In addition, 78 Days by Emilija Gašić was awarded the Explore Award for her unique documentary approach to the Kosovo war. The short film Goodbye First Love by Shuli Huang won the Award for Best International Short.
