The Cinekid Festival, the largest international children's film and media festival, will take place this year from 19 October to 3 November at forty locations, with Pathé Amsterdam Noord as the main location. Since its inception in 1986, the festival has grown into a versatile event with films, TV series, workshops, master classes and the MediaLab. The 38th edition opens with the animated film "Victor Vleermuis" by Patrick Raats. In addition to the international competition with twelve films, there are also competitions for Dutch films, short films and youth/children's series. Cinekid director Heleen Rouw emphasises the importance of the festival for the development of children.
