From 18 October to January 2025, CINEMATEK Brussels, in collaboration with the international film magazine Sabzian, is organising an extensive retrospective of the work of Dutch documentary filmmaker Johan van der Keuken. The films, mainly from the archive of Eye Filmmuseum, include his early work such as city portraits and portraits of artists, his experiments with fiction together with Remco Campert, and his later extensive works including the North-South trilogy. On 10 October, Van der Keuken's widow Nosh van der Lely and producer Pieter van Huystee will be present for a conversation.
