The documentary "Gerlach" by Luuk Bouwman and Aliona van der Horst has won the VEVAM Fund Award of the Forum of Directors 2024 during the tenth edition of the film competition at the Netherlands Film Festival. The jury, led by Nafiss Nia, Joost Broeren-Huitenga and Kiriko Mechanicus, praised the film for its empathy and the way it addresses major themes such as the climate crisis and the gap between citizens and politics. The award, worth €5,000, was presented at the Louis Hartlooper Complex.
