At the 44th edition of the Netherlands Film Festival in Utrecht, which started on September 20, the annual Filmbonzen Top 20 was presented. This list reveals the most influential people in the Dutch film industry. Halina Reijn, known for the film Babygirl, is number one. She was praised for her contribution to the Dutch film industry at international film festivals. Sandra den Hamer, director of the Film Fund, and streaming services that are now obliged to invest in Dutch productions, follow her on the list. Other notable names are Jacques Hoendervangers of Pathé Nederland and Eppo Bruins, Minister of Education, Culture and Science, who has to deal with a cabinet that wants to abolish arts subsidies.
