The detective series "Jackson & Malone", created by Hans Teeuwen and directed by Max Porcelijn, combines humor, suspense, and drama in a story about two detectives investigating brutal murders of elderly people in the village of Spulne. Despite a difficult start and search for financing, the series was eventually realized with support from Videoland. Teeuwen and Porcelijn emphasize the unique mix of genres and the creative freedom they had, which makes the series feel both like an homage and an original work.
