"Julie Zwijgt", Leonardo van Dijl's feature film debut, is the Belgian entry for the Academy Awards in the category Best International Feature Film. The film, which follows a young tennis prospect whose coach is suddenly suspended, had its world premiere at the Semaine de la Critique in Cannes and won three awards. With a cast led by newcomer Tessa Van den Broeck and supporting roles by Koen De Bouw, among others, "Julie Zwijgt" has also been selected for various international film festivals. The screenplay was co-written by Ruth Becquart, and the film is a production of De Wereldvrede in co-production with Les Films du Fleuve, among others.
