Surinamese-Dutch film director Pim de la Parra has died at the age of 84. The director, known for Blue Movie and Wan Pipel, died after a short illness in Paramaribo, his family reports. De la Parra made dozens of films and had his big breakthrough in 1971 with the erotic film Blue Movie, about a man who wants to catch up on what he missed after his release from prison.
