The Film Fund introduced a new method for submitting projects: the Pitch Film Idea, in which filmmakers present their ideas to a panel of colleagues. Iwana Chronis, Head of Selective Funding, explains that this approach helps makers to sharpen their plans. The pitch panels, inspired by a similar system at the Flanders Audiovisual Fund, consist of professionals from the film and culture sector. This method replaces the Idea Check and is intended to improve the quality of applications by giving makers feedback at an early stage. The initiative is a response to the large number of applications and the need to prioritize quality over quantity, with the aim of creating a stronger and more distinctive film offering.
