The 2024 BFI London Film Festival, which runs from 9 to 20 October, has announced its full programme of 253 titles. The festival opens with the world premiere of Steve McQueen’s Blitz, a film about a nine-year-old boy in London during World War II, starring newcomer Elliott Heffernan, Saoirse Ronan, Kathy Burke and Stephen Graham. The festival closes with the European premiere of Morgan Neville’s animated documentary Piece by Piece, about Pharrell Williams. Other world premieres include Darren Thornton’s Four Mothers and Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard’s The Extraordinary Miss Flower. The festival also includes competitions for first features, documentaries and short films, as well as a showcase of TV series and immersive artworks.
