Milano, Christina Vandekerckhove's fiction feature debut starring Matteo Simoni, will have its world premiere on October 15 at Film Fest Gent 2024. The film tells the intimate story of a single father and his deaf son, and explores themes of failure and the pressure within their relationship. Vandekerckhove, who previously achieved success with the documentary Rabot, is making her first fiction film with Milano. The film is notable because it is the first Flemish feature film with a deaf lead actor and Flemish Sign Language. Milano will be in cinemas from November 6.
