In "The Feeling of Emptiness", HKU graduate Mipham Chhowing explores his complex relationship with his Bhutanese father Jurmi, who returned to Bhutan when Chhowing was six. The documentary, which begins with Chhowing studying a suicide note on his father's guitar, is an emotional journey from Australia to Varanasi, India, where the guitar is ritually burned. The film, which explores intergenerational trauma and the search for personal catharsis, will be shown at the Netherlands Film Festival.
