The film festival Film by the Sea, which will take place from 6 to 15 September 2024 in Zeeland and Noord-Brabant, will present a rich selection of Dutch and Belgian films. The opening will be provided by "Een Schitterend Gebrek" by Michiel van Erp, based on the book by Arthur Japin. Other highlights are the film adaptations of "Hokwerda's kind" by Boudewijn Koole and "Poison" (Gif) with Tim Roth and Trine Dyrholm. In addition, various other films and documentaries will be shown, including "De Wilde Noordzee" and "Heart Strings". The festival also offers literary talk shows, in which authors and filmmakers discuss the adaptation process from book to film.
