Dutch special effects pioneer Harry Wiessenhaan has died at the age of 75 from a heart attack in Sweden. Wiessenhaan, known for his work with director Paul Verhoeven in films such as Soldaat van Oranje and Zwartboek, has provided the special effects for more than three hundred films and series. He also worked internationally, including on A Bridge Too Far and with Hollywood stars in films such as The Devil's Own and Ocean's Twelve. Wiessenhaan is praised as the founder of special effects in the Netherlands, with a safe working method as his pride.
