The 2025 BAFTA Film Awards will introduce a new category for best children's and family film and a points system for judging British films. The new category is intended to honor films that appeal to intergenerational viewers and highlight the contributions of the children's media sector. The points system for British films will include criteria such as nationality of nominees and key extras, and information on co-productions and the new Independent Film Tax Credit. Furthermore, the nomination processes for directing and acting are being adjusted, and the requirements for best film have been expanded.
