Jordan Daniel, a graduate of the Willem de Kooning Academy, explores the connection with his Curaçao roots in his graduation film Mas ku palabra. Growing up in a white environment in Tilburg and not speaking Papiamentu, the language of his parents, created a distance from his heritage. By returning to Curaçao and talking to family and acquaintances, Daniel discovers that there is more than just language that binds him to the island. The film, originally intended as visual art, became an in-depth interview film that captures the essence of Curaçao's solidarity. Daniel plans his next projects around the Caribbean-Dutch identity.
