Renowned children's book author Tonke Dragt has died in her hometown of The Hague at the age of 93, Uitgeverij Leopold confirms. Dragt, best known for her classic 'The Letter for the King', has left an indelible mark on Dutch children's literature. Her work, which has won several prizes and has been translated into 34 languages, also includes titles such as 'De septensprong' and 'Towerhoog en Milesbreed'. Several of her stories have been made into films, including a TV series, a musical and a Netflix series of 'The Letter for the King'.
