The Council for Culture has issued its advice on the distribution of €5,827,100 in subsidies for the film sector for the period 2025-2028. This budget is intended for four film festivals and a supporting film organization within the Basic Infrastructure. Movies that Matter, a newcomer, received no subsidy, while Eye Filmmuseum received the full requested amount of €2,480,973. Other organizations such as Cinekid, IDFA and the Dutch Film Festival received less than requested. The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) must submit a new plan due to a disappointingly assessed proposal.
