Suzanne Koopstra, a graduate of the Dutch Film & Television Academy, presents her graduation film The Future is Bankrupt, a documentary that is both an ode and a lament to Rotterdam. The film highlights the demolition of houses in the city through the eyes of Bep and Tinus de Does, almost seventy-year-olds who have been taking photos of Rotterdam houses that are being demolished for sixty years. Koopstra explores the feeling of loss and nostalgia in Rotterdam, partly due to the bombings of the Second World War and the constant innovation. The Future is Bankrupt will be screened during the Keep an Eye Film Academy Festival and the Dutch Film Festival.
