The Polish Parliament has passed a major change in copyright law, entitling creators and performers of audiovisual works to royalties for making their works available online. This law, passed on June 28, 2024, is a major victory for ZAPA, the Union of Audiovisual Authors and Producers. It ensures that artists receive appropriate compensation through collective management organizations or direct agreements. The law, which is in line with EU guidelines, strengthens the position of creators by offering them fair compensation for the online use of their creations.
