Digna Sinke reflects on her semi-autobiographical graduation film "Greetings from Zonnemaire" from 1972, now available on Eye Film Player and soon to be seen in Eye Film Museum. The film explores themes such as collecting, change and transience, which also recur in her later work. Sinke, born in Zonnemaire in 1949, talks about her education, influences and the challenges of her first directing experience. She shares personal anecdotes about the making of the film and her development as a filmmaker, including her interest in photography and the influence of teachers such as Harry Kümel. Sinke now lives part-time in Zonnemaire and maintains the vegetable garden that can be seen in her film.
