The drama series Laura H., based on the book of the same name by Thomas Rueb, tells the true story of teenager Laura (played by Zoë Love Smith) from Zoetermeer who leaves with her family for the caliphate in Syria. The six-part series, directed by Kadir Ferati Balci and Flynn von Kleist, explores Laura's motives and the consequences of her choices. The story emphasizes the unconditional love between parent and child and the search for identity. Laura H. is a production of VPRO, HUMAN and VRT, and can be seen on NPO 3 and NPO Start from the end of August.
