Filmnieuws
The documentary "I Am the River, the River is Me", directed by Petr Lom and produced by ZINDOC in collaboration with several international partners, highlights the Whanganui River in Aotearoa (New Zealand), the first river to receive the same rights in 2017 as man got. This recognition came after a 150-year long struggle by Māori. The film follows a canoe trip organized by Māori river guardian Ned Tapa, who invites participants to experience the spiritual and regenerative power of the river. With the support of various film funds, the documentary is showing in 39 film theaters.
