Monic Hendrickx, one of the most awarded Dutch film actors with four Golden Calves, stars in various roles that demonstrate her versatile talent. In the hit series Penoza (2010-17) she plays Carmen van Walraven, who develops from an inexperienced woman into a full-fledged mafioso. Hendrickx's breakthrough came with her role as Anna Krzyzanowska in The Polish Bride (1998) by Karim Traïdia, for which she received a Golden Calf. Hendrickx also shows her ability to convey deep, inner dimensions of her characters in Nynke (2001) by Pieter Verhoeff and Het Zuid (2004) by Martin Koolhoven, with her naturalistic acting in Het Zuid being particularly praised.
