The Rotterdam Arab Film Festival (RAFF) 2024, taking place from May 30 to June 2, will screen more than thirty films from North Africa and the Middle East at four locations in Rotterdam. The festival opens with "Hajjan" by Abu Bakr Shawky, a Saudi film about a boy who wants to honor his deceased brother by participating in a camel race. Other highlights include “Behind the Mountains” by Mohamed Ben Attia, “Animalia” by Sofia Alaoui, “Goodbye Julia” by Mohamed Kordofani, and “Flight 404” by Hani Khalifa. In addition to films, the festival offers panel discussions, a masterclass, and special events such as Ladies Night and Palestine Film Day, with the aim of stimulating conversations about art, emancipation and political freedom.
