Frank Schaafsma, known for his leading role in the film Schatjes! from 1984, died at the age of 59. The film, directed by Ruud van Hemert, attracted 1.5 million visitors and Schaafsma played the role of Thijs Gisberts. In addition to his acting career, Schaafsma was also a musician and played in various bands. His family announced his unexpected natural death on a private Facebook page.
