Since its introduction in 2014, the Film Production Incentive, intended to promote international cooperation, professionalism and production activity in the Dutch film industry, has contributed significantly to the economy. This incentive measure, which offers production companies the opportunity to recoup 35% of production costs spent in the Netherlands, has put the Netherlands more firmly on the map as an attractive country for film productions. Research by Het Creatief Kapitaal shows that the scheme generated more than €880 million in the period July 2014 to December 2023.
