The SPLASH! Film Festival in Friesland has launched a creative campaign in response to not receiving a €15,000 subsidy from the Province of Friesland due to a bureaucratic error: their project plan was 607 words too long. Despite the substantive praise from the province, this formal error led to rejection of the subsidy, as a result of which the festival was in danger of not going ahead in October. With the campaign "Buy a word, make a SPLASH!" the festival still hopes to raise €15,000 by 'selling' 607 words for €24.71 each.
