Jasper Nijsmans has been appointed Head of Promotion at the Flemish Audiovisual Fund (VAF). Previously active in the arts sector, Nijsmans has worked at the international promotion department of the VAF since 2017, where he was involved in the promotion of documentaries, short films and immersive productions. He also played a role in the organization of CONNEXT, an annual showcase event for Flemish film. He was selected from 26 candidates by a jury, including members of the VAF and external experts. Flanders Image, part of the VAF, continues to promote Flemish productions internationally, with the Marché du Film in Cannes as the next major event.
