“East of Noon,” a film written and directed by Hala Elkoussy and produced by seriousFilm, has been selected for the Directors' Fortnight program at Cannes. The film, a dystopian story about 19-year-old ABDO who uses music to resist older leaders, was made possible by the De Verbeelding scheme and the Film Production Incentive. In addition to "East of Noon", six other minority co-productions with a Dutch participation have been selected for Cannes, including "To A Land Unknown" by Mahdi Fleifel.
